The image sensor as a core component of the IP cameras, CMOS has a trend gradually instead of the CCD. With the development of technology, the CMOS sensor’s performance is being improved rapidly. Response speed of CMOS sensor is faster than CCD sensor and power consumption is lower than CCD sensor, and therefore it is more suitable for the large amounts data feature of high-definition monitor. From the market point of view, traditional manufacturers of CCD SONY has begun to shift the focus to the CMOS sensor, in its production of high-definition network camera is almost exclusively uses a CMOS sensor. This may be seen as a stage victory of the CMOS sensor.
